The nearest beach to the site at approximately 1 1/2 miles. A nice walk along the country lanes...but remember it's uphill on the way back! Penbryn is a National Trust beach and hence remains unspoilt. There is a carpark with small seasonal cafe selling food, drinks and beach toys for the kids, big and small!

Cardigan Walks Festival: Held in September, 2011 dates to be announced, the weekend starts on the Friday evening with a talk and reception at the Guildhall before a 'town walk' will help to acquaint visitors (and local people!) with Cardigan's rich history and architectural heritage. Organised locally, it was free to take part in last year's festival, however spaces were limited therefore you needed to book.
Over the course of the weekend there are walks of varying demand and challenge, from a 3-4 mile 'stroll' up to 12-13 mile expeditions.
All walks have leaders and support, and those that start or finish away from Cardigan have transport available.
FISHING :
Cardigan Bay offers a variety of fishing for the keen angler, from great sea fishing to the thrill of game fishing on the rivers for salmon and sea trout.

The stunning Welsh Wildlife Centre stands within the Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve on the banks of the River Teifi.The centre contains an informative interactive indoor display of local natural and social history about the River Teifi and Cilgerran. Also interactive screens with live camera feed from off the Teifi Marshes Nature Reserve. There is an adventure playground with lots of slides and play equipment with living willow structures to play in and around!The River Teifi runs alongside the reserve.

FELINWYNT RAINFOREST CENTRE:
Free flying, tropical butterflies in natural surroundings. The owners have created an idyllic rainforest on the west coast of Wales, which has been accredited as a Visit Wales Quality Assured Visitor Attraction. Also has a visitors shop and cafe.There is a video room free to all customers, showing videos of butterflies of the world, and other videos of the Peruvian Amazon. Felinwynt Rainforest Centre is 6 miles from Cardigan and 4 miles from Aberporth on the Ferwig/Mwnt road.

CARDIGAN ISLAND COASTAL FARM PARK:
This unique farm park is stunningly located on a scenic headland, overlooking the nature reserve of Cardigan Island, home to thousands of nesting sea-birds. The park also has a flock of wild Soay sheep, originally from the isle of Soay, south of Skye, Scotland. A colony of Atlantic grey seals breed in the many caves below the farm park cliffs and can be seen virtually every day.
Cardigan Bay's bottlenose dolphins are frequent visitors to the waters surrounding the park, particularly during calm weather, when they swim closer to the shore. They can be viewed clearly from the park.There are a variety of friendly farm animals including pigs, sheep, goats, rare breed cattle,ponies, chickens, rabbits, guinea oigs, ducks, geese. SEAMôR SeaMôr is a small company running boat trips, private boat charter and scuba diving in the picturesque fishing village of New Quay and the Victorian town of Aberaeron in West Wales. They offer short fun trips around the New Quay Bay with a chance of snorkelling and jumping off the boat for those who want a bit more action into the boat trip. Weather permitting you can snorkel, swim or jump off the boat, and lift a lobster pot to see what it may hold. Enjoy the scenic coastline of Ceredigion Heritage Coast line, and of course there is a high chance of seeing dolphins and other wildlife too! These trips are usually run from New Quay but we can also pick up from Aberaeron. Costs vary according to the duration of the trip, starting from £15 for adults and £10 for kids 16 or under for one and half hour trip from New Quay. Bring your own wetsuit, and they will provide mask, fins and snorkels for you.

LLANGRANNOG SKI SLOPE:
The 100m slope was built in 1989 and has continuously grown and developed to Llangrannog Ski and Boarding Centre as we see it today. It has a watering system, lift and floodlights for evening lessons. The slope is the only ski slope in West Wales.

Located only 3 miles from Talywerydd, this golf course is open all year round and is very rarely closed by the weather and normally there is no need to book. This picturesque 9 hole golf course is set in a beautiful secluded valley surrounded by a clear water stream. The licensed club house overlooks one of three small lakes. The club house has a bar, eating and changing facilities.

CASTELL HENLLYS:
Castell Henllys is an Iron Age Hill fort where roundhouses and other builings have been reconstructed on their original foundations. The site is particularly important because archeologists have been excavating there for over 20 years.BBC 1's series 'Surviving the Iron Age' was filmed there. During the series it became home to the volunteers for seven long weeks while they tried to survive conditions similar to those of over two thousand years ago.
There's lots to do and much to see at Castell Henllys Iron Age Fort. It has something for everyone, from exciting and enjoyable family events to beautiful and fascinating walks through the woods.

INTERNAL FIRE MUSEUM OF POWER:
Internal Fire museum covers the history of the stationary internel combustion engine in industry and agriculture.Engines run daily in the summer months from March to September, there is always something running somewhere inside and out.

THE NATIONAL WOOL MUSEUM
The National Wool Museum is one of Wales' best kept secrets - hidden in the heart of the west Wales countryside,in the village of Drefach Felindre. ENTRY IS FREE!
The museum tells the story of the welsh woollen industry in a village that was once the centre of a thriving industry. It is a home to a commercial working mill where you can see working textile machinery.It also contains a gallery showcasing Welsh blankets, shawls and costumes.
